Joe Webb -
Where does one turn when all money is gone?
Where does one turn when the bills are past due?
Where does one turn when the family is hungry?
The malignant eye tumor was bad enough and the operation very painful;
but, when Joe learned that his insurance would not reimburse
the $10,000.00 the tumor had cost him, he was stunned!
How would he keep his heavily mortgaged equipment?
How would he supply his family with food and shelter?
Who could he turn to in this time of tragedy?
Then they began to arrive!
The envelopes from members of United Christian Fund . .
each of them with five or ten or even as much as $500.00 or more.
Folks Joe had never met were sending him money and letters of encouragement.
Praise be to God!
JOE’S TRAGEDY HAD TURNED INTO TRIUMPH!
Thus, in 1981, Joe Webb became the first recipient of help from United Christian Fund; and,
until he went home to the Lord a few years later, continued to live on his farm in Tahoka,Texas.
Joe Webb received a little over $4800.00 from contributors in more than 30 states.
Gifts to this first United Christian Fund appeal averaged a little more than $5.00 each.

Darrell & Shari Andrews -
The Andrews Family's nightmare began when in August of 1995, Blake, now 9, was diagnosed with adrenoleukedystrophy (ALD), a rare degenerative disease; then, just two weeks later the other two children, Elizabeth (7) and Phillip (5), were diagnosed to be carriers of the crippling disease.
Blake had a bone marrow transplant in December of 1995 with many complications. After a long struggle for his life they got him home in a wheelchair, unable to talk and having suffered loss of much hearing, sight and balance.
The family's stay at home was short lived. In March of 1997 Phillip underwent a bone marrow transplant. His complications were not as severe but then pneumonia set in. After many days in intensive care Phillip passed away in the second week of October, 1997. Needless to say, the Andrews finances have been destroyed. Purchases of wheelchairs, van accessible lifts and a wheelchair accessible van have cost them enough, not withstanding the outrageous medical and hospital expenses.

Joyce Atwood has spent much of her life ministering to the downtrodden; teaching and preaching to those who many consider to be the outcasts, and unworthy of their attention. Joyce faithfully carried groceries to the needy, collected and distributed clothes to them, and cleaned houses for some disabled and unable to care for themselves.
When her husband passed away joyce began cleaning houses for a living so that she could continue helping the needy. Now Joyce is unable to care for her self and is in dire need of help from others. Surely God would hold us accountable were we not to do for her what she has done for so many others.

Joyce Covington
Joyce, age 63, lives with her mother who is blind and dependant upon Joyce for her care.
In July of 1997 Joyce was diagnosed with pancreatitis, remaining in Odessa Regional Hospital for 3 months after pancreatic surgery. She was then sent to Baylor Hospital in Dallas for two more surgeries and a long convalescence there.
Joyce is still not out of the woods. Her doctor has demanded that she have a CAT scan before he will continue treatment; but, her insurance has yet to pay anything toward her hospital and doctor bills and Joyce simply does not have the money for the cat scan. She has been denied medicaid, is unable to work and her social security is not even enough to live on.
Folks, Joyce must have our help if she is to survive and resume the care of her blind mother. God's Word instructs us to care for those in this situation. Won't you obey God today and mail Joyce a generous gift to help her through this terrible time?

March 2008
Richard Allen Kresse is living in a nightmare. Time is running out to get the corrective airway passage surgery he so desperately needs. He was told 14 months ago that the proceedure should be done within 12 months.
Due to a horrible auto accident, his lungs were puntured, his foot and throat were crushed, leaving him with continuous infections and forced to breath through a hole in his throatwhich keeps him short of oxygen. Bouts with cancer, a stroke, unemployment and a host of other tragedies have made it impossible for his immediate family to help him more.
Without insurance, Richard Allen Kresse simply must have your help if he is to have this vital surgery.

Sam and Joyce Ray
Sam & Joyce Ray are facing unbearable circumstances each day. Diagnosed with hepatitis B and sclerosis of the liver, Sam must receive a liver transplant soon or he will go into coma and possibly die.
Medicines, doctors, hospitals and tests have already stripped Sam and Joyce of their ability to pay house payments and other necessary bills. They have barely managed to hang on to their home until now; but, now they must have help or wind up on the street.
With prayer and a little help Sam and Joyce will both make it. Sam is being placed in line to receive a liver and God is undertaking there; but, it is up to you and me to see to it that they do not lose their home.
