As an International Director of Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International, I have had the opportunity to see God raise up many effective ministries. To be honest with you, when you first presented United Christian Fund to us at the 1983 Sacramento Mountain Men's Spiritual Advance it struck me as a great idea that might never fly.

Well, time has proven that it will fly. As I look back, there are many Full Gospel Business Men that have had their "tragedies turned to triumph" as a multitude of us came to their rescue through the United Christian Fund Appeals. Just to name a few, there is Bill Vegh whose appeal was launched at the Prescott, Arizona Men's Advance; Ron Griffith, from Carlsbad, New Mexico; Frank Swinford, from Alamogordo, New Mexico; Adair Rippy, FGBMFI International Director from Denver, Colorado.

Wes, it has been a joy to participate in the ministry of United Christian Fund and to look on as God has guided it's growth; beyond that, there is great comfort in knowing that, through United Christian Fund, I have had the opportunity to couple my small gifts to those of many others in order to help many who would otherewise perish.

Although I have no authority to compel anyone to participate in the United Christian Fund program, I will assure every Full Gospel Business Man that UCF really works; and, I believe that, were enough of us to get involved, not a one of us would lack and FGBMFI would be abundantly blessed with even greater effectiveness to minister to the men whose lives it touches.

I am... enclosing a copy of a letter that was sent out to those on my prayer vine list, along with others that he sent to people in Virginia Beach who knew us when we ministered at CBN. I felt real bad that I was unable to send out the envelopes that you mailed to me (the lady, along with myself were both too ill), and then Jim called and asked me to send them to him, so it all was in the Lord's control, they got mailed on December 26th.
I have realized something about the way that these envelopes minister to the individual in need - - - they minister more than financially. Each envelope was like a visit from the person, a kind of fellowship that I have been unable to have. Even though I don't know the people, an awareness that there was someone ( an individual) that loved me behind each envelope. Had you taken up a $1,618.00 offering and sent it I don't think it would have had the same effect.
Also, there became a great building up of my hope in the Lord, realizing that there are so many people who are doers of the Word and not hearers only. By the way, I have not had a seizure, or even come close to one, in the past month. Since the abcesses were healed several weeks ago I have been doing real good. Steve burned his right hand severely and many were fervently praying for that and it has resulted in that the burn was not only healed, but the feeling has come back into his hands, both of them. A doctor friend in N.M. kept advising him not to have the surgery. As he was forced to wait upon the Lord, through this "mysterious way" he now has no numbness! Many blessings to you for being used by God in such a wonderful way.
